A few weeks back we took a trip to the Grand Canyon with Russ Miller of Creation Evolution Science Ministries. It was a trip that I encourage everyone who is able, to make the next time it's offered. He was able to point out things which evolutionary science just plainly ignores because they give validity to creation. But Russ wouldn't have been able to show all this up close and personal with the Grand Canyon had God not arrived on scene that day. Not that He wasn't already there, but you get my point.
As we drew closer to the Desert View Watchtower park; sleet, fog, snow and clouds collapsed in on our bus. The temperature dropped to near freezing and it appeared we were going to be denied the blessing of gazing upon the incredible grandeur of the Grand Canyon and perceiving the enormous power of our God. As we disembarked the bus, the parking lot was as if it were in the clouds. Visibility was no more than a couple hundred yards and as we approached the canyon rim, it was as if the canyon had been intentionally filled to the rim to hide God's glory from our eyes.
The questions swirled through our heads, "What were we to do now? Shall we leave? Should we wait?" But knowing God is almighty, we dared to trust that He had something spectacular of us. We made our way over to the canyon viewing area ... THEN GOD!
Yup, THEN GOD! Russ began talking about the evidence which we couldn't see clearly. But as he spoke, the fog began to thin and the clouds began to separate. It was a gradual unveiling of His majesty. The snow and sleek stopped and Russ was able to point out and share the evidence and glories of the great flood and of our Creator. And not just to our group, but others as they gathered around to hear of the greatness of God.
I got the feeling the Lord was showing Himself trustworthy to our seeking Him. He cleared the whole canyon, even down to the river below. It echoed of the parting of the Red Sea in Exodus 14. I received just a small morsel of the shear sense of awe which Moses and the Israelites must have felt as they stood and watched the trillions of gallons of water move aside through the night, giving them clear view of their path to salvation from the Egyptians, clear understanding of God's love for them and clear knowledge of the power of God.
Romans 1:20 reads, For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
His glory is displayed through His creation and it was on full display that day! It was a great trip filled with God moments for me, this being just one. I'll share more in the days to come. He is faithful and revealing Himself to each of us. I pray you will look for Him throughout your day.
Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
In His service,
Words of encouragement from the leadership at Calvary North.
