Hope In the Face Of Defeat

For 9 chapters God has pointed out Israel's sinful ways through the prophet Amos. But Israel still resisted and refused to turn to God. And so judgment would fall. Israel would be wiped out and led off to captivity in under 30 years. But God would leave a remnant of His people alive because of His promise to Abraham. They were still His people and His promise of the Messiah coming would still be intact. In the face of defeat God would bring them hope of restoration in the coming days.
